ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mahshid Farhoudi-Di Marco is an Iranian-Canadian artist whose works can
be found internationally in such places as Canada, The United States, Italy, Germany,
Norway, Iran and Australia.
Not just the creative process but also the "hands-on" process of art
production is a continuing and fundimental part of life for her, as one
completes the other.
As a visual artist she employs vigorous methods and materials drawing upon
techniques from the renaissance to the present, bridging the gap of different
technical and historical periods in painting. Her works explore the inner/outer positions of human figure,
which are set within architectural forms. With this visual language she
strives to achieve a balance between the various aspects of contemporary art making.
Mahshid was born in Kermanshah, Iran. Her art education began in
Iran at the age of 14, completed in Canada through Ontario College of Art
and Design and advanced in Florence, Italy with teachings of American
master Charles H. Cecil.

"On the one hand I explore the critical dimensions of social
issues relating to culture and identity, on the other hand I address the
aesthetic context and form in art making."
